We wanted to write with an update on Chanda. It has been one year since we adopted Chanda. We got her during your Mother's Day adoption drive.
When we picked her out, she was so shy. It took a few days for her to come out of hiding. We were very patient with her and would go in and check on her to be sure she was okay and would often pet her if she would let us. After a few days, she wandered into other rooms and became more and more comfortable being out with us instead of in hiding. It took her awhile to come out of her shell, but she soon became the queen of the house.
I wanted you to know that one year later she has become a real member of the household. We discovered that my husband was not as allergic to her as he had been to our previous cat. So we decided not to block off the bedroom to her. She loves nothing better than to sleep on top of the bed during the day or look out and watch the birds from the night stand.
I would never have believed that she would have become a lap cat, but she loves to sit on laps and nuzzle.
She is very playful and her favorite thing to do is chase an old plastic 35mm film cannister around the room.
She is very laid back and takes everything in stride. After getting her, we went through some remodeling in the house. She never batted an eye as people came in and out of the house and we moved her from room to room.
We wanted to thank you so much for helping us find Chanda. We wanted to also let you know that she is doing just fine.
