We want to take the time to let you know how blessed our family is with the addition of Princess Fiona (formerly Rhiannon). It has been a couple of years now since we adopted her from Second Chance.
We had lost our cat of 8 years unexpectedly due to kidney failure. It was very devastating but after several months, our house felt empty without the companionship and love of a pet. We stopped at several adoption centers through the weekend and Second Chance was our last stop one Sunday afternoon.
It was at Second Chance that we met such compasionate,caring counselors who introduced us to the many cats looking for a home. They introduced us to Princess Fiona (formerly Rhiannon). When we heard her story, we knew she was the one for us. She had a feisty personality and had been at the shelter for almost three years.
She was so beautiful, but looking in her eyes, we knew she just needed a permanent home and to be away from all other cats. She looked so unhappy.
The minute we brought her home, she rubbed up against everything and loved being the princess (hence the name Princess Fiona) of the house with no other cats to contend with.
Princess Fiona is the best pet! It took a few weeks to teach her she was safe, and it was okay to be loved, petted, and pampered. She now gladly accepts it all! She is so loving, funny, and quite entertaining too! She loves to play and many times acts like a puppy!
I'm so glad the counselors believed in Fiona and we gave her that second chance. She is such an absolute blessing and we can't imagine our home without her. She is the best!
