With Thanksgiving behind us and holiday shopping in full swing, we’re approaching the global day of philanthropy known as #GivingTuesday! On Tuesday, November 29, Second Chance will join the many nonprofits who will be raising money in service of our mission: to give every stray and abandoned cat and dog the second chance to find love that they need and deserve. We invite you to join us for a live-streamed tour of our adoption center that evening at 7:30 p.m. Eastern so you can meet the animals who will immediately benefit from your donations (to say nothing of the animals whose lives will be saved and changed by your gift over the next year)! Simply hop over to our Facebook page (you don’t need a Facebook account to watch) and go behind the scenes as we introduce animals!

Increase your impact: create a fundraiser!

YOU can create a fundraiser of your own any time between now and Tuesday: it’s quick and easy! Not only do these 5-step-setup fundraisers bring in much-needed funds for the animals, but they introduce new people to our mission to expand the Second Chance family! There are two ways to do it, and both will get you a customized link to share with your family and friends.

  • Through JustGiving:
    • Start your set-up by going to https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/gt-2022Sign up (or log in if you’ve used JustGiving before).

    • Set your goal, choose “Other,” specify that it’s Giving Tuesday, and the date is November 29. Hit “personalise.”
    • It’ll suggest a title, pitch, and slug for your URL; you can accept it all as-is or edit it if you’d like. Click “Next.”
    • You’ll have the option to keep our default photo or change to one of your own. Once you’re satisfied with your selection, hit “Finalise.”
  • Through Facebook:
    • Go to https://www.facebook.com/fund/SecondChanceNC/. (You must have a Facebook account and be logged in.)
    • Keep our pre-set photo or use one of your own.
    • Edit the impact statement suggested by Facebook or leave it as-is.
    • Set your goal amount (you can always increase it if you hit it) and decide when your fundraiser should end.
    • Hit the “create” button.
