WILL WE SEE YOU SOON?
WILL WE SEE YOU SOON?

You know we’re gearing up for the Racing for Rescues 5K Run/2K Walk and first ever Family Reunion, but did you know we are also preparing for events at ballparks, bottle shops, and everywhere in between?

Wine Walk at Lafayette VillageThis week we’re at Lafayette Village for a Wine Walk on Thursday night. Join us for a stroll through the village, tasting new and exciting wines at restaurants and shops, all to benefit the animals of Second Chance. Click here to learn more…like how to get a free wine glass!

Spring Fling at UnleashedThen, on Sunday, April 23, you can find us among the many local vendors and rescues participating in the Unleashed Spring Fling. This family-friendly event includes your furry family members, too, not least of all because of the biggest local doggy Easter egg hunt!

And of course, it wouldn’t be baseball season without another Bark in the Park game! On April 27, we’re hanging with the Durham Bulls–and you’re hanging with your best friend! Get a ticket and a seat for your dog and enjoy America’s pastime.

Bark in the Park

Yappy Hour plus Barks 'n BrewsWe finish April with a bang–we’ve got two events April 30 for you to choose from! If you’re into brunch, Yappy Hour at Blackfinn Ameripub is for you. Enjoy a special menu, excellent beverages, and raffle prizes on the patio (dogs welcome). Perhaps you’d rather check out a new bottle shop? Meanwhile, over at Pourworks, BarkHappy (a social app for your dog–yes, it’s true!) is hosting Barks ‘n Brews, with pints, pups, freebies, and more! It’ll be a great day no matter where!

We hope to see you at an event very soon!

Meet Meringue

Meringue

Meringue will be two years old soon, & she’s hoping for a 2nd chance for her 2nd birthday!

We rescued Meringue from a kill shelter in December of 2016. (This snow-white girl came to us in the winter, appropriately.) Just like a lemon-meringue pie, our gal is a mixture of sweet and tart. Like any dessert, she doesn’t want to compete for your love! If you’re looking to fill your home with all the cat you need in one little lady, she might just be for you!

Would you like to help with Second Chance events?

Even if you can’t adopt an animal right now, there are other ways to help homeless, stray, and abandoned animals! We always need help taking care of the animals in our facility, & as we move into the busiest part of the year, we can always use more volunteers who help us staff the many fun and exciting events we’re a part of.

No free time on your hands? Donating makes an impact, too.

However you can help, animals are waiting on you, right here, right now.
