YOUR GIFTS SAVED PENNY'S LIFE!

Penny, a timid 3-year-old Yorkie/Chihuahua mix, was rescued from an overcrowded shelter in September 2017. Her long and messy hair was so very tangled and matted. We actually mistook one very long mat for her tail at first!

Her mats were so close to her skin that grooming her caused her so much discomfort that we had to sedate her. We had little clue that under all that fur was a small (and underweight) dog that weighed less than 5 pounds!

Her skin was still so sore that even after her haircut, she would yelp if you picked her up, and it took her about two weeks before that behavior subsided.

Today, Penny is now Darci, the beloved pet of Michelle and Roy!

Her rescue and transformation were made possible by supporters like you, and on this cold winter night, you again have the opportunity to rescue and transform a homeless animal’s life.

Sponsor Boone!

Chained up and all but forgotten, Boone was left without sufficient food and water after his owner passed away. A good Samaritan noticed him and even took him to the vet—only to find out that he was also heartworm-positive. Thanks to the support of the Second Chance family, Second Chance was able to take this bulldog mix in, and he’s now undergoing heartworm treatment to get ready for his forever home! While he waits, he’s being fostered by the family who found him and enjoying his backyard, couch snuggles, and—most of all—treats!

Sponsor Boogie!

Around Christmas in 2016, Boogie’s owner passed away, and he was left with no place to live. Thankfully, he didn’t have to face the cold winter alone or on the streets—because we had your support, we were able to move him into one of our kitty condos, and he’s been here ever since. Why? This beautiful boy has a few special needs. As a senior citizen, he’s looking for a retirement home, so active families with kiddos aren’t the best option for him. He’s also looking to be the king of his castle and will need an owner who will help him manage his thyroid condition. However long it takes to find the purrfect home for Boogie, he has a place in our shelter—and in our hearts.

Grant an Animal’s Holiday Wish!

Cold, dark, and windy. Homeless animals sleeping on the streets are hungry, anxious, and desperate on nights like these. It doesn’t have to be that way. With your help, stray and abandoned cats and dogs can have their holiday wish come true: to sit by the fire, or under the Christmas tree, surrounded by love and all their needs met. Help us bring more animals home for the holidays–send a gift today.
