Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday… after all the shopping, it’s time to give back! On Tuesday, December 3, become a part of the national day of philanthropy by donating to Second Chance!
The first $1,750 donated to Second Chance animals on Dec. 3 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the generous Posner family of Cary, NC–thank you Karen, Matt, and Wyatt!
Additionally, Facebook will match the first $7 million donated through the platform beginning at 8:00 a.m. Eastern sharp on Dec. 3! Click HERE to donate to ours!
Donate on our website, send a check, or tune into our LIVE stream on Facebook at 7:30 p.m. Eastern, where you can meet the animals in our care and send your donation straight through the social media platform! During this stream, you’ll hear some incredible stories of second chances granted–stories like Kellogg’s, who was just adopted after 77 weeks in our program!
Kellogg was found as a stray and brought to a local county shelter, where he waited for–but never found–his forever family. On the final day before his scheduled euthanasia, Kellogg got his freedom ride, and he’d been hanging out in our cageless cat rooms ever since. Time to find the purrfect fit is a luxury that we could give Kellogg (and all of our animals) because people like you support our no-kill organization with donations of money, food, and other necessities–thank you!
In the 18 months that he was in our care, Kellogg had made many good friends with other cats, wrestling and running (often escaping the room, darting into the warehouse or any hard-to-get-to space that would prolong his adventure)… and each time, he watched his friend get adopted, leaving him behind.
Not so with Fiona Cait: rescued as a stray herself (with her five 3-week-old kittens), she and Kellogg bonded, and when Olivia decided to adopt, she committed to taking them both!
On #GivingTuesday, send a gift to animals in need: make a donation so they enjoy safety, warmth, and love this holiday season and many more!
BONUS: everyone with an active Facebook fundraiser for Second Chance animals when the stream starts will get a personal, on-air shout-out!
