Programs

As Second Chance Pet Adoptions identifies new needs within our community, we strive to create programs that address those needs. Below you will find a list of programs that Second Chance is currently operating.

All of these programs are only possible through the generous support of people like you and our corporate sponsors.

Rescue Cats

We find adoptive homes for stray and abandoned cats

Rescue Dogs

We place stray and abandoned dogs for adoption

Heeling Hearts

Heartworm disease could be fatal if left untreated, but it is also very expensive to treat; we rescue and treat heartworm-positive dogs so that their odds of being adopted (at no additional cost to the adopter) are increased (and their lives are saved)

Hearts to Home

A transport program through which we rescue dogs from overcrowded county shelters in North Carolina and drive them up to much-emptier shelters and rescues in northern states like New Jersey and Maryland

Kitty Clip

A feline spay/neuter program open to all residents of Wake County, regardless of income
