2020 Evening of Pawsibilities Costume Contest

Voting has now closed. Watch the live stream 7:00-8:00 pm Eastern on Nov. 1 to see who won! Click HERE to see the stream.

Get in the Howl-o-Ween spirit and enter our 2020 Evening of Pawsibilities costume contest, brought to you by Black Dog Bottle Shop and HomeTrust Bank! Submit your costumed cat’s or dressed-up dog’s photo and you could win a $50 Target gift card!

Here’s how:

  • Any time between now and when voting closes (noon Eastern on Nov. 1, 2020), but preferably no later than noon Eastern on Oct. 29 (to give us time to create your listing before voting opens later that day at 5pm Eastern), submit your 1 MB-or-less (recommended image size is 1088 x 816 pixels) pet’s photo (one photo per pet, though you may submit multiple pets separately or more than one pet per photo) to us.
  • Send an email to costumes@secondchancenc.org with the subject line: “2020 EOP Submission: PET’S NAME” (for example, “2020 EOP Submission: Fluffy”). Attach your photo to the email.

At 5:00 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, October 29, 2020, Second Chance will release all photos for voting (each with a custom link) in Givesmart, our Evening of Pawsibilities platform. You can send your friends and relatives your photo’s custom link or post it on your social media channels. They can create their Givesmart accounts for free and cast as many votes as they’d like (as can you!) for $1 each. (BONUS: Once in Givesmart, registrants can also see—and bid on—our auction items, buy a Wine Pull or any other Buy-Now items, or get raffle tickets for the $1,000 Amazon gift card!)

Voting will close at noon Eastern on Sunday, November 1, 2020. The dog and cat who each have the most votes relative to other members of their species will each be declared the winners. The two people who submitted those photos will each receive a $50 Target gift card by mail or by picking up at Second Chance. The winners will be contacted (to confirm pick-up vs. mailing preference and mailing address) no later than Monday, November 2, 2020, and, if shipping is preferred and addresses are confirmed by then, the gift cards will be sent through the U.S. Postal Service no later than Friday, November 6, 2020.

Additional information:

  • Please ensure that your pet’s costume is safe for your pet to wear!
  • Each vote is a donation to animals in need and is tax-deductible.

Best of luck to all pawticipants! Thank you for helping stray and abandoned cats and dogs get their second chances to find love!
