Kitties and K9s: Get Ready to Pawticipate!

Here at Second Chance, we’ve been asked more than once if our esteemed Evening of Pawsibilities guests can bring their four-legged pals to the auction. Un-fur-tunately, pets haven’t been able to enter the ballroom. But this year, some guests will pawty with us in-person, while others will enjoy the festivities from home. So as long as we’re somewhat fur-tual, we realized this is a great time to get your furry friends involved like never before! Thus, the “Wags With Swag” contest (sponsored by our friends at Moon Interiors) was born!

How It Works:

  • Before 12:00 noon Eastern on Thursday, September 16, 2021, fill out the form below to enter the competition and submit a photo of your pet.
  • The entrance fee is $5 per pet and you can submit as many pets as you’d like; each pet is granted one entry with one photo. Please submit just one form per pet.
  • Voting opened at 12:00 noon Eastern on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. You may still enter your pet into the competition even after voting has begun, but remember, your pet will be at the greatest advantage if you submit them as soon as possible!
  • You can now vote HERE and see the current scoreboard HERE.
  • Your pet’s photo will have a unique link that you can share with friends and family to encourage them to give your fur baby a boost. Please DO NOT copy/paste/share your link while you are logged into the GiveSmart platform, as links are personal to each user and if you send someone your link, they will be in YOUR account. You should have received a shareable (non-personal) link from us once your pet was added; if you did not receive one, please contact us at rachel@secondchancenc.org.
  • Each vote costs $1; with every single vote, you and your loved ones are giving a stray or abandoned cat or dog a second chance to find a loving forever family!
  • Voting will close at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, September 18, 2021.
  • The cat with more votes than all other cats, and the dog with more votes than all other dogs, will each win a $100 Amazon gift card, and the winners will be announced during the Evening of Pawsibilities live stream. NOTE: there are pets in the contest that are ineligible to win (cats and dogs whose guardians work for Second Chance Pet Adoptions or Moon Interiors, as well as adoptable animals in our program). In the spirit of philanthropy, their photos can collect donations, but they will not be awarded prizes, regardless of the number of votes they have received.
  • The Amazon gift cards will be emailed to the winners using the email addresses they provide in the form submission; winners should expect to receive the gift card via email by September 22, 2021.
