Sully

Adorable, endearing, and loving: these are just a few words that describe this puppy boy.

Sully was surrendered at the Wake County Animal Center by his owners after being hit by a car. It was difficult and painful for him to stand when we met him, but that did not stop his tail from wagging and his tongue from licking us! With severely swollen legs and a dislocated hip, he was still a happy boy…the kind of happy that is contagious. You cannot be in a bad mood when this goofball is around!

We brought him to Bayleaf Veterinary Hospital, where he was hospitalized for three days to manage his pain and reduce the swelling. (But he is pretty sure he was there to make people smile and get lots of attention.) Sully then went into foster care with Ellen to get some much needed R&R.

Unfortunately, as the swelling continued to decrease, so did the use of his leg. He returned to Bayleaf for a re-check and it was clear surgery is needed. On Wednesday, August 10, Sully had a hind-leg amputation. His surgery went very well; he is home now and already running around! Please keep him in your thoughts and wish that he may heal quickly!

Today, we are thrilled to report that Mr. Sully has found his forever home. Please consider donating to Second Chance to help animals like Sully.
