News from Second Chance

Raleigh Brewing CompanyWe send a big THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the “Barks ‘n Brews” event at Raleigh Brewing Company on October 30., to RBC for hosting us, to Eric of Pawww Snap for taking great photos in the doggy photo booth, to our volunteers, and to Hungry Paws for donating proceeds! Thanks to ALL of you, Second Chance animals received $990 that day!

Harry PitterWe had an absolute BLAST at Barks ‘n Brews! So many dogs came out in awesome costumes. The contest was a ton of fun and we can only imagine the judges had a “ruff” time picking winners! Check out Harry Pitter! Everyone enjoyed the special “Rescue Rye” brew, the Adobo Joe Food Truck, and the Hungry Paws Mobile Dog Treats truck for sure (they sold dog treats and doggy-safe beer!). For the first time ever, we also had Pawww Snap in the house shooting pup portraits like the one above and capturing amazing memories of Halloween 2016.

More About Stryder

Meet Clay! If you’re looking to celebrate “Adopt a Senior Pet” month, this 10-year-old gentleman is waiting for you! Clay is a mature, independent guy who is loyal to the end–once you’re good in his book, you’re good for life! He is very affectionate with those he loves, but you will only find him hanging out with humans, as he’s not very into the idea of hanging out with other cats. Perhaps Clay’s favorite thing to do is lay in the sun and look out the window. Do you have a window he could use? Please come visit him and see how he fits into your home!
More About Clay

Clay must eat a special diet of canned food to maintain his coat and keep his skin free of scabs. At Second Chance, we’re committed to providing this for him and keeping him healthy and comfortable. Can you chip in for Clay?

Ezra

BIRTHDAY CORNER: It’s Ezra’s first birthday this month! Ezra is a super handsome boy with eyes like big blue marbles. Despite his grumpy appearance, he is very feisty and playful! In fact, he’s buddied up with his roommate Annabeth and when they aren’t cuddled together, they’re wrestling and chasing each other. If you’re looking to adopt a pair or need a playmate for your current cat, come and meet Ezra at the Adoption Center and wish him happy birthday!
