"Miss Beasley is one pooped puppy after Racing for Rescues!" -- Foster mom Tanya

Ms Beasly

Miss Beasley — a 7-month-old shepherd mix we rescued from a kill shelter in January — isn’t the only one who needed some rest after our 5K Run/2K Walk and Family Reunion! You all kept us on our toes all day: we had over 575 people register–almost double the size of our largest race until this one–and we raised over $45,000 with your support! We are elated, ecstatic… and exhausted! 😉 But the show goes on, and while we prepare for the 17th annual Evening of Pawsibilities (September 23–save the date), we’ve always got more events lined up so you can join the Second Chance fun!

Joining us at an event this summer? Bring photos of your Second Chance pet to put on the Family Tree bulletin board--we'll add to it all summer long!

Thanks again to our Racing for Rescues sponsors!

Pets in Print!

Who’s that on the cover of the most recent issue of 919 Magazine? Why, it’s our Director, Lisa Imhof! We’re excited to reveal that Second Chance Pet Adoptions was selected for a feature story! Pick up a (free!) copy near you–this issue is all about pets–and see our feature on pages 30-33 (or read it here).

SelaMeet Sela

We rescued Sela from a kill shelter in January of this year. Our one-year-old girl is very talkative, especially if you’re giving another cat more attention than her! Despite this quirk, she’s actually a pretty mellow, laid-back gal…though, since she’s still young, she might have bursts of energy in her new home!

Does she sound like she might be the right fit for you? Visit her at Petco in Cary or apply to adopt her!

Thank you for your support!
