Bark in the Park (Durham Bulls)

    6:35 pm-10:00 pm
    08/18/2021
    Durham Bulls Athletic Park
409 Blackwell St, Durham, NC 27701, USA

Bark in the Park is back! Bring your best four-legged friend to enjoy the Durham Bulls baseball game with you–the sale of each dog ticket is donated by the Bulls to the animals here at Second Chance, so it’s a great time for a great cause!

Tickets for the 2021 season are on sale now HERE. You must purchase tickets in sections 124, 126, 128, 130, 132, or 134, and you must purchase a ticket for your dog.

The pertinent things to know related to COVID-19 are:

    1. With the NC governor having lifted restrictions on capacity, the stadium will be operating at full capacity if the game sells out. However, there are still options for socially-distanced pod seating on a first-come, first-served basis (the Bulls may remove this option at any time).
    2. Consistent with CDC guidelines and local laws, the Bulls no longer require vaccinated guests to wear masks. They do encourage those who are not vaccinated to wear a mask unless you are actively eating or drinking. The Bulls do not ask for proof of vaccination.

As usual, Second Chance volunteers will be ready and excited to “pet sit” your pup while you access parts of the stadium where non-service dogs are not allowed (food and drinks, restrooms, and so on).

Second Chance and the Durham Bulls appreciate your cooperation and patience as we navigate these changes in a new world–your safety and the well-being of Second Chance and Bulls personnel are our priority!

    Dog wash

    11:00 am-3:00 pm
    08/21/2021
    Unleashed - Creedmoor
7408 Creedmoor Road Raleigh, NC 27613

Bring your dirty pup to Unleashed on Creedmoor and we’ll take care of bath time for you! Spare your knees, back, and bathroom with a donation for the animals of Second Chance Pet Adoptions (suggested $10 donation per dog). Cash, check, and card all accepted.

Second Chance has an online appointment-making system; while we do take walk-ins, and we do take on-site payment even for those who chose to register (but not pay) online, we especially encourage advance registration and prepayment to:

–reduce or eliminate your wait time

–have fewer people waiting at one time to reduce the spread of COVID-19

–pay for the wash without needing to exchange cash, credit cards, or checks with our volunteers (again, to reduce the spread of COVID-19)

We hope this will make your experience better and safer. You may now make an appointment by clicking HERE! Each month, the online reservations will open up at 12:00 noon Eastern on the first or second day of the month. Online reservations will close 24 hours in advance of the wash (at 11:00 a.m. Eastern on the day before the wash) OR once all appointments are booked.

    When you arrive at Unleashed:

Because the City of Raleigh and Wake County now require masks indoors, Second Chance now requires dog wash volunteers and customers to wear a face mask. We continue to encourage our customers to stay at least 6 feet away from Second Chance volunteers, Unleashed staff, and all other customers as much as you are able to.

If you will need additional accommodations for safety precautions, please use our online reservation system to make your appointment and let us know what your needs will be (e.g., our volunteers can assist with curbside pick-up of your dog so that you can stay in the car if needed) so that we can do our best to make plans to help. While we cannot guarantee accommodation, we will do our absolute best!
