Meet Kirby and Calvin
Our Cats of the Week this week are Kirby (white and orange) and Calvin (white and gray)! This bonded pair of 4-month-old boys are the perfect pair of kittens. These two gentle babies just love affection and snuggles and are suckers for belly rubs (seriously, they’ll just lay on their backs with all four feet in the air just waiting!). They will reward any attention with the loudest purring in the state. These guys had a very rough start in life–Second Chance rescued them after they were turned into a kill shelter as tiny 3-week-old kittens with no mom. They had terrible eye infections and needed help with eating on their own, so they learned very early to depend on and trust humans. The boys are now healthy, although the infection significantly damaged one of Kirby’s eyes (so he does not have much sight in it and needs artificial tears daily), but he romps and plays with no difficulty at all! Calvin and Kirby love each other as much as they love humans. Kirby is especially attached to his brother, so we would love to adopt them together as a pair. To help keep them together, their adoption fees have been sponsored by a Second Chance parent who adopted a pair of bonded siblings and want to preserve the bond between Kirby and Calvin.
