Happy Caturday! ? Our featured Adoptathon (noon-4pm at the Center) cat is Amber! She’s a 1-year-old tabby that we pulled from a high-kill shelter. She’s a sweet and chirpy girl! She has lots of energy to play but also has lots of love to give, so Amber is a great balance between playful and cuddly. She is good with other cats and does okay with calm dogs. If you’re interested in making Amber a member of your family stop, by the Adoptathon and speak with our adoption staff!

The Second Chance Pet Adoptions Racing for Rescues event is back! Join us Sunday, May 5 at Sugg Farm at Bass Lake Park in Holly Springs for a 5K race and fun walk. The event features a 5K without dogs, a 5K with dogs, and a leisurely dog-inclusive walk. Enjoy the raffle (need not be present or even registered to win), costume competition, vendor village (with complimentary snacks/beverages) and meet some of our adoptable dogs. It’s a fun way to help save a life, and the event t-shirt will always remind you of this fundraiser!
Want to participate virtually/remotely? You, too, can register to get that event t-shirt and compare your 5K timing, and the raffle and fundraising prizes can still be yours!

Enjoy the raffle, fundraising competition, vendor village (with complimentary snacks/beverages), a DJ and meet our adoptable dogs. It’s a fun way to help save a life, and the event t-shirt (included in your registration).

Bark in the Park is back! Bring your best four-legged friend to enjoy the Durham Bulls baseball game with you–tickets for the 2024 season are on sale now! The sale of each dog ticket is donated by the Bulls to the animals here at Second Chance, so it’s a great time for a great cause!
You must purchase tickets in sections 128, 130, 132, or 134, or tickets on the lawn, and you must purchase a ticket for your dog.
As usual, Second Chance volunteers will be ready and excited to “pet sit” your pup while you grab food/drinks or use the bathroom or access parts of the stadium where non-service dogs are not allowed.
We can’t wait to enjoy America’s pastime with your and your pup!
