22: WHAT DOES THIS NUMBER MEAN TO YOU?

Adopt a Shelter Cat Month

Last year, we sent 22 cats home in the month of June. It’s that time of year again — National “Adopt a Shelter Cat” Month. Will we celebrate by sending more kitties home this month than we did last year? We hope so — but we need your help to do it! If you’re considering adding a furry feline to your family or you know someone who’s considering adoption, consider a Second Chance kitty! We’re open for visitors Monday-Friday 11 am – 5 pm and, on Saturdays (when our young foster kittens are here), 12 – 4 pm!

Happy Hour at Bottle Revolution

June 23 is National “Bring Your Dog to Work” Day, so reward your pup after a long day at the office with Happy Hour! Learn more about the event and purchase raffle tickets here! (Need not be present to win; need to be present to have a great time! Must be 21 or older to win any of three exciting and delicious limited-release beer prizes!)

MiaIt’s raining Kongs!

As both internal and external pins hold Mia’s leg together (we suspect she was hit by a car), she recovers here at Second Chance–her injury rules out her eligibility for a foster home. Though we love having her in the office, she’ll be here for many weeks to come, and she can get bored…and that’s where the Petfinder Foundation steps in. They sent us 10 Kongs to occupy, entertain, stimulate, and challenge the dogs in our program, and perhaps none are more grateful than Mia!

30th Anniversary Merchandise30th Anniversary Celebration Continues

Are you joining us at an event between now and the Evening of Pawsibilities September 23? We’ll be celebrating our 30th birthday all summer long, so bring photos of your Second Chance animals (past and present) to pin to our Family Tree bulletin board! Oh, and did we mention the limited-edition merchandise we’ll bring to most events? Shirts and hoodies, backpacks, leashes and collapsible water bowls, coffee mugs, water bottles, and travel mugs–also on sale at the Center!

Nancy LeeMeet Nancy Lee

Nancy Lee was surrendered to us in November of 2016. This dilute tortie gal is a senior lady looking for a nice, quiet home. If you believe that love has no age limit, why not come and meet her or apply to adopt her today?

Can you support Second Chance today?

At Second Chance, our ultimate goal is to send animals to their forever homes–but not everyone is in a position to adopt a cat or dog, and we get that. Two other ways you can support these rescue efforts? Adopt. Volunteer (including short-term, all-expenses-paid fostering). It’s not too late to help. Animals are waiting on you, right here, right now.
